HFFC wants to promote a dialog within its membership on current of issues of concern to humanists and freethinkers. Here is an article from the March 27, 2020 issue of The Humanist magazine "Under a Spell: Faith vs. the Public Health Crisis." Despite strict “stay at home” orders and advisories against large crowds, some religious services are still going forward at great risk to public wellbeing.

In last night's Democratic Party debate, Buttigieg was the only candidate to mention separation of church and state. He said "The Republican party likes to cloak itself in the language of religion. Now, our party doesn’t talk about that as much, largely for a very good reason, which was we are committed to the separation of church and state, and we stand for people of any religion and people with no religion." Today, the Supreme Court acted against the separation of church and state. They ruled that Bladensburg, Maryland could keep their giant cross. It looks to me that a lot of people are not standing! Note: A post-Christian city has a high percentage of non-religious people.
